Carter Racing

When working with our groups in class Monday, we all decided that we would race. To back up my reasoning I brought up the idea that John Carter and his crew worked very well together and was able to build a strong relationship. They all had the power to work together and turn themselves into winners. After seeing that Carter Racing had won first place four times in a row it made me think that they knew what they were doing and that made me say yes to racing. After Dr. Goates put financial information on the board it really started to change my reasoning. I decided to change my idea and not race for several reasons. First, I thought it was a lot of money Carter Racing was bringing to the table and potentially losing if the engine would blow up. Second, after receiving the second handout that had valuable information on it our group discussed our opinions. I pointed out that temperature sign flashed 40 Degrees at 9:23. If the temperature is that low at 9AM I said to my group that the temperature is probably not going to rise much higher throughout the day. Then we looked at the graph and saw that the number of races without blown gaskets is greater around 65 Degrees. Seeing this it was pretty much the icing on the cake and influenced our decision not to race.
